At HOSA Mental Health Promotion: Bullying Prevention, we are dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and preventing bullying. Our mission is to provide resources and support for individuals, families, and communities to promote mental well-being and prevent bullying. Join us in our efforts to create a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
Risk Factors of the Social Media Campaign
Be sure to verify all the information before sharing it online or discussing it. Misinformation can spread quickly, so it's important to ensure everything is accurate and reliable.
Social comparison: Be mindful not to give the impression that you're pretending your life is perfect while promoting mental health awareness.
Make sure you're conveying the right message and spreading mental health awareness in a respectful and appropriate manner.
What We Have Learned
We’ve learned how to recognize signs of someone struggling with mental health and how to identify when someone might be in need of support.
Often, those who appear the happiest on the outside are the ones silently struggling the most. Never assume that someone is okay just because they seem happy.
Don’t be afraid to speak up if you or someone you care about is struggling with mental health. If you’re unsure how to handle it, don’t hesitate to reach out for help.
Spreading mental health awareness is crucial because it might give someone the courage to speak out when they otherwise wouldn’t.
HOSA Mental Health Promotion: Bullying Prevention is committed to promoting mental health awareness and preventing bullying through a variety of initiatives and programs. We focus on creating a culture of acceptance, understanding, and support for mental well-being. Our approach is tailored to address the specific needs of different age groups and communities, ensuring a comprehensive strategy for mental health promotion and bullying prevention.

How a Mental Health Consultant
was Utilized in our Project
Our Mental Health Consultant was Merida Tomb from Wes Watkins Tech Center (WWTC). She has 16 years of experience as a counselor. We utilized her expertise by interviewing her and asking questions that are essential for raising awareness about mental health. An interview with Ms. Tomb is available on this website, where she shares valuable mental health resources. We were provided with additional resources to distribute to students. These resources will be presented at the Student-of-the-Month event
What are Some Potential next Steps for the Team?
We will be speaking at a school-wide event about the effects of bullying. We have received permission to speak on this topic at the end of the month. We will also be addressing classes about the impact of mental health on youth.
Next steps: We are working on creating a pamphlet filled with resources for students on how to seek help for their mental health. This pamphlet will be distributed to students to provide them with valuable information and support.
